Mais qui est Teia Maman ?
Le nom, déjà, est intrigant n’est-ce pas ?
Il y a un peu plus de deux mois, je me suis posé la question sur l’éventualité d’une traduction anglaise de mon livre...
Du coup, j’ai posté une annonce sur un site de traducteurs professionnels, pas mal m’ont répondu, mais une m’a tapé dans l’œil déjà par son nom et puis surtout par son parcours et enfin son contact en direct "très friendly".
Vous me direz, n’est-ce pas un peu vite en besogne que de traduire en anglais un livre qui n’a même pas encore fait ses preuves en français ?
Et bien non, car sur SXM, c’est surtout l’anglais la langue d'usage. Je ne pouvais pas écrire une romance se déroulant à SXM, sans proposer aux habitants et aux visiteurs anglophones qui sont majoritaires sur l'île, une version en anglais.
Et donc, la mystérieuse Teia Maman ou également appelée Galatea Maman est la traductrice américaine qui travaille d’arrache-pied pour nous livrer pour la mi-septembre 2015 la version anglophone.

Author Valerie Lieko, a pediatric neurologist, lives in the French West Indies with her husband and their three children. She is hard at work on her second novel, also set in the Caribbean, but this new romance will develop amid the gods, spirits and demons of West Indies folklore.
